Where to Start
Proto's mission is to enable programmers, "shadow IT" and even end-users to do more with their data by building better analytical dashboards.
Proto is a new type of environment that isn't quite programming. We have seen business analysts with no programming experience become proficient with Proto in under a week. We have also had seasoned programmers tell us that they were able to build simple analysis applications within hours of downloading a trial. We hope you will come to agree that Proto is a step towards bridging the gap between Excel and IT initiatives for business intelligence.
(People interested in "BI 2.0" and "mashups" can download a free whitepaper we wrote after Proto was voted the "Category Winner" by a panel of judges at the Under the Radar conference in March 2007.)
Just like all new software applications, learning the ins-and-outs of Proto requires an investment of time and effort. Whatever your background or comfort with programming, we're here to help you get started.
To go from exploration to mastery you will need to:
- Get a fully functional, 30-day trial of Proto Financial or a non-financial beta license.
- Come up with a project.
- Get some help from our team.
