So what is SEO, how does it work, and is it right for your business? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization or Search Engine Optimizer.
This is a very powerful form of advertising, because people don’t realize that it’s advertising. Most people don’t like advertisements, in fact the 11 sponsored ad positions on a Google results page only get 15% of clicks while the first organic listing receives between 30 and 50% of the clicks based on the industry. When your website shows up in organic listings people feel like they found you themselves.
In early 2014 Mobile browsing exceeded Desktop internet usage for the first time in history. For certain search terms Google displays a pack of results that includes a map and either 3 or 7 local business listings. On mobile browsers the results in this pack get a click to call button directly on the search results page. By not being in the local listings pack you’re missing out on over 50% of potential customers that are actively searching for your business.
If you decide that SEO is something you’re interested in the next step is choosing the right person or agency to do it. The truth is there are a lot of people out there that call themselves SEO experts, and only a fraction of them can achieve consistent results. The worst part is that the majority of Winnipeg SEO firms are using outdated SEO methods that can potentially get your site blacklisted by Google. I’m going to give you a list of 5 guidelines to follow when choosing an SEO Company.
First, stay away from generic or incredibly low pricing. No two businesses are alike and every business has a unique set of financial goals they’d like to achieve.
